New Horizons Celebration at StASC

More than 35 people showed up at the Stocker Astroscience center to celebrate the passage of New Horizons through the Pluto system. Visitors received printouts of the mission information sheets, watched the NASA briefings on the main screen in the Astro 101, heard a short presentation by Dr. Webb on the NEw Horizons mission, and received a certificate as a keepsake to remind them where they were when humans first visited the Pluto system. Interested visitors also toured the astroscience center control room and looked at the Sun through white light and H-alpha solar telescopes.
